Community-Based Healing and Trauma Recovery Training for Youth Leaders in North Darfur

#

The Graduate Producer Association (GPA) successfully implemented the Community-Based Healing and Trauma Recovery Training in partnership with the Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM) and with support from the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).

The project trained 30 youth initiative leaders and local facilitators from across Darfur, equipping them with skills and tools for collective trauma healing and psychosocial support (MHPSS) based on CMBM’s internationally recognized mind-body approach.

Key Activities:

  • Conducted a six-day intensive training on trauma healing and mind-body medicine techniques.

  • Organized group practice sessions focused on breathing, relaxation, meditation, and peer support.

  • Established a network of trained community facilitators capable of leading local healing circles in conflict-affected and displaced communities.

Impact:
The project strengthened youth resilience, emotional well-being, and community peacebuilding capacity, creating a ripple effect of healing and connection among young leaders working for peace and recovery in North Darfur.
