The Darfur Youth Cooperative Farm was successfully implemented by the Graduate Producer Association (GPA) in partnership with the Darfur Agriculture and Entrepreneurship Innovation Lab (DAEIL) under an in-kind grant (No. T-DAR071) funded by USAID and administered by DT Global from 1 May 2022 to 30 October 2022.

The project targeted 30 young men and women (50% female) from diverse communities in Sagalnaam, North Darfur, aiming to economically empower youth and promote their effective participation in peacebuilding and Sudan’s democratic transition through sustainable agricultural production.

Key Achievements:

  • Installed and operated a solar-powered irrigation system for agro-business activities.

  • Rehabilitated an agricultural well and prepared 70 acres of farmland.

  • Constructed a towered water tank for irrigation storage.

  • Supplied modern agricultural tools and equipment.

  • Conducted two comprehensive trainings on management, peacebuilding, and agribusiness.

  • Fostered cooperation and social cohesion among local communities while providing sustainable income for youth.

The project created lasting impact by generating local livelihoods, promoting innovation, and strengthening the culture of peace and shared prosperity in North Darfur.
